  Hollweg, Rebecca

Rebecca Hollweg is a singer and songwriter. Her material is melodic pop with jazz and folk influences ranging from James Taylor and Joni Mitchell to Alannis Morissette and the Ben Folds Five.

"There is something of Joni Mitchell in her soaring vocal lines and Suzanne Vega in her confessional ones'". Dan Cairns in The Sunday Times. "Well- crafted adult pop" Time Out, "exquisite vocals" Lucy O'Brien in The Guardian.

She has supported Rodger McGuin of the Byrds, and previously Sony artists Celtus, on their UK tours, playing major theatres. She was the London support for Tom McRae on the Roadworks Tour at Dingwalls.

Rebecca is on tour regularly and gaining recognition across the UK

June Babies

'June Babies' is an album of Hollweg originals sung with effortless ease and backed by a tight band. Andy Hamill (Nitin Sawhney, 4 Hero and Shea Seger) does a splendid production job and provides some eloquent bass. This is a band sound, plain and simple. Rebecca delivers her polished, radio -friendly songs with perfect diction and some real style with her own distinctive sound. An unaffected "this is me" singing voice is relaxed and easy on the ear (that does not mean bland).
The Mitchell references are probably strongest in the conversational style of the vocals - 'Sorry', 'Sleeping In' and 'Is It Me You're Looking For?'

It includes ten songs which originally appeared on The Demos (two of these, 'Getting on' and 'Where are you going?' are totally new versions), plus two new songs - 'Warhol and Williams' and 'The Weather Song'. There is a colour booklet which contains all the lyrics.

The album features four beautiful string arrangements by Chris Bowden and a guest appearance from Jeb Loy Nichols.
