  Boulanger, Nadia (1887-1979)

Studied at the Paris Conservatoire, Nadia Boulanger is a renowned composer and teacher of many successful contemporarycomposers. Her composing career was short, but her style quickly matured, her songs having a clarity and fluidity to them, adding to and developing the tradition of the French melodie. She spent her later life conducting, teaching and promoting her younger sister's music.
