Scottish. She played in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. Studied with John Taverner, a leading composer today. She has produced many operas, including A Night at the Chinese Opera (1986). In 1990 the BBC Commissioned The Vanishing Bridegroom ; an opera which was televised and in 2000 her woman.com was commissioned for the BBC Proms.
