  Williams, Grace (1906-1977)

Welsh. Studying at the Royal College of Music, London, she developed into a composer of great potential, receiving many commissions form the BBC. Her works consist of orchestral pieces and songs scored for full orchestra. Her text setting is clear, generally syllabic, accompanied in her early works by mild dissonances. She also used modes, the Scottish snap and repeated motifs.
