Grimani, Maria Margherita (1713 c. -1718)

Italian. Little is known of her life, except her surviving works. Pallade e Marte is an oratorio, with April 5, 1713, Bologna, written on the manuscript. She is though to be one of seven woman composers who produced oratorios at this time. All her works that are extant employ solo singers and orchestra. She uses da capo arias, walking bass, recitative and short ritornellos.
